To install Windows correctly, it is recommended that you install it “from the bios”. First, you need to create a bootable flash drive with the Windows installer.

1) And so, to enter the bios on ordinary desktop computers, you need to press the “Del” or “Delete” key on your keyboard when you turn on the computer.

On laptops, the key to enter the BIOS may differ depending on the model, here are some examples:

Acer: The most common keys are F1 or F2. Acer Aspire models may have a shortcut of Ctrl + F2, TravelMate and Extensa models may have F2 or Del. On older Acer laptop models, it may be Ctrl+Alt+Del or Ctrl+Alt+Esc.

Lenovo: Often the key to enter the Bios is F2. If you have an ultrabook or hybrid laptop, it may be necessary to use the Fn key combinations, i.e. Fn+F2. Less common are the F8 or Del keys.

HP: F10 or Esc. On older models, Del, F1, F8, or F11.

Samsung: The keys to enter may be: F2, F8, F12, or Del. If you have a laptop with the Fn key, you can only enter the bios with the shortcut: Fn+F2, Fn+F8, or Fn+F12.

Sony: Vaio models may have a special ASSIST key for this, just above the F12 key. On older laptop models, the access keys may be F1, F2, F3, or Del.

Dell: On this model, the Bios login key is usually F2. In rare cases, it may be F1, F10, Del, Esc, and Insert.

2) You’ve already booted into the BIOS, let’s look at a few options. Classic Bios and UEFI BIOS.

Classic Bios. It can be in 2 variants:

You must set the priority for boot the flash drive.

On the other type of BIOS, click Advanced BIOS Features.

Next First Boot Device => USB CD-ROM (if you want to boot from a flash drive)

After selecting the bootable flash drive in the Bios (in the 2 options above), you need to press F10 on your keyboard. There will be a choice (save and reboot) Yes or No, choose Yes. After rebooting, the computer should boot from the flash drive.

3) Let’s look at booting from a flash drive on the new UEFI BIOS:

New UEFI BIOSes can come in different flavors, with different GUIs. Often, all you have to do is press F8 in the main menu of the bios and drag the boot device (flash drive) to the first item in a new window. But sometimes you need to go to a special “Boot” tab and there you can select the necessary device for booting using the “arrow” keys on the keyboard. After selecting the desired device, save the settings by pressing F10 (Save and Reboot). After rebooting, the computer should already boot to the flash drive you need. Below on the screenshots we will consider example variants of actions of different versions of UEFI BIOS.
