A new build of Windows 10 Insider Preview – 20211 is now available.

Installer composition:

Download from Microsoft’s website (authentication with your account is required).

This build belongs to the development branch: RS_PRERELEASE and is intended for testing functionality by developers and experienced users.

What’s New in Windows 10 Build 20211

1) Added search on the “Default Apps” page (Choosing default apps for file types) in the “Settings” menu.

2) Access to Linux file systems, such as ext4. Mount and access a physical disk inside the WSL 2 installer. For example, if you dual-boot with Windows and Linux systems and use different disks, it is now possible to access Linux files from the Windows system.



3) Fixes for the following issues:

Fixed issues where certain x32-bit applications running on an x64-bit operating system were not getting proper promotion to the discrete GPU for hybrid configurations.

Fixed an issue with tiles in the Start menu continuing to show the “Updating app” progress indicator even after the update had completed.

Fixed an issue with icons in the Start menu sometimes appearing smaller on their own.

Fixed an issue on ARM64 devices where the Start menu would crash after being invoked following the launch of certain apps and then closing them.

Fixed an issue that sometimes led to the lock screen becoming unresponsive.

Fixed an error that caused ShellExperienceHost.exe to hang.

Fixed an issue with image thumbnails not appearing in notifications. For example, when taking a screenshot using WIN + Shift + S.

Fixed an issue that caused Windows to hang during updates.

The system will no longer prompt to reinstall .NET Framework after installing each new build.
