Microsoft has officially announced that they have made the decision to rename the Microsoft Office 365 suite, with the new name for the service being Microsoft 365. Subscriptions, in turn, will also receive new names: Microsoft 365 Home (Family), Microsoft 365 Personal, Microsoft 365 Business, Microsoft 365 Pro Plus, and so on.

According to Microsoft, for example, the family subscription for home will cost $10 per month, with the subscription available for up to 6 simultaneous users. The initial launch of Microsoft 365 Personal will be available on April 21st, reportedly priced at $7 per month. The gradual introduction of new features will be rolled out in the near future, becoming available with new updates. Subscribers of Microsoft Office 365 will be able to upgrade to the new Microsoft 365 version for free.

Developers claim that this is not just a renaming of the Office suite but a global upgrade of functionality and the introduction of various additions. Among the new additions are Microsoft Family Safety for screen time management and tracking the location of your family’s devices. New functionality in Microsoft Teams will allow for its use outside of working hours. Microsoft Editor, based on artificial intelligence, will help improve the quality of text in Word, Excel, and other documents.

Among the new features of Microsoft 365 is the Presenter Coach, a speech rehearsal feature integrated into the PowerPoint application. It will be able to detect “speech monotony” and “fine-tune speech”. The application will analyze the speech and suggest making it more emotional if the “coach” deems the presentation too dull and monotonous. Additionally, in the grammar check feature, the coach will suggest correcting your text if it contains many filler words and other issues with word and grammar structure. Initially, the preview version will only be available for free in English, after which it will be included in the Microsoft 365 subscription.

The new PowerPoint Designer feature will allow users to add variety to their presentations. For example, with one click, you can turn text into a timeline, and if you add an image to a slide, you can choose one of the automatically generated design options for that image.

Microsoft 365 subscribers will also gain access to over 8,000 images for templates, 115,000 looping videos from Getty Images, 300 new fonts, and around 3,000 new icons. In addition to all this, there will be over 200 new templates available for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Excel will introduce a new feature called Money, which will serve for managing finances, tracking them, and analyzing your expenses. The automatic data import feature for bank account transactions will be available, but for now, this functionality will only be available for the United States and its banks.

There will be new data types such as “Food”, “Movies”, “Places”, allowing for clearer data structuring. Additionally, over 100 types of data from Wolfram Alpha will be available.
