Inserting a New Formula
1. Go to the Insert tab.
2. In the Symbols group, click the arrow next to Equation and select Insert New Equation.
Working with Formulas
1. In the Equation Tools area on the Design tab in the Symbols group, click the More arrow .
In newer versions of Word, the “More” arrow might look slightly different.
Selecting a Symbol Set
1. Click the arrow next to the symbol set name.
2. Select the symbol set you want to display.
3. Click the desired symbol.
Available Symbol Sets
In the Symbols group in Word, the following sets of mathematical symbols are available. Click the More arrow , then select the menu at the top of the symbol list to view groups of symbols.
