It also includes features for replication, full-text search, relational and XML data management. It integrates analytics with the database and PolyBase integration for accessing Hadoop and other data sources. Provides Data Quality Services (DQS) server.
Analysis Services – This service contains tools and features for creating OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) applications and smart data analysis applications, as well as tools for accessing and managing them.
Reporting Services – This service includes a full container of server and client applications for creating, accessing, managing, and deploying matrices, tables, graphical reports, and also allows for free-form report creation. Reporting Services is an extensible component that can be used for report application development.
Integration Services – This is a set of graphical applications (tools) and programmable objects that can be programmed (configured) to move, copy, and transform your data. This component also includes another Data Quality Services (DQS) component for Integration Services operation.
Master Data Services – Master Data Services, or MDS, is a key component for managing master data. MDS is configured to manage any task and structure (products, customers, invoices). Functionality includes hierarchy, security and access settings, transactions, managed data versions, and business rules. Also includes an Excel add-in for data management.
Machine Learning Services (in database) – Supports installers and programmable machine learning solutions that use your corporate data sources for training. Supports R and Python languages.

Management Tools
SQL Server Management Studio – This integrated SQL Server environment provides access, configuration, management, and all administrative functions. Additionally, it allows for the development of all SQL Server components. The environment enables administrators and developers to utilize the full functionality of SQL Server administration and development.
SQL Server Configuration Manager – Basic management access for configurations, services, server and client protocols.
SQL Server Profiler – A graphical user interface for monitoring Database Engine components and Analysis Services.
Database Engine Tuning Advisor – Creates optimal sets of indexes, indexed views, and partitions.
Data Quality Client – A simple graphical application (interface) for connecting to the DQS server and executing data cleansing tasks. It allows detailed tracking of operations during data cleansing.
SQL Server Data Tools (Formerly: Business Intelligence Development Studio) – An integrated suite for development that allows additional functionality to be created for Analysis Services, Reporting Services, and Integration Services components.
Additionally, SQL Server Data Tools contains another component – “Database Projects,” providing a full development environment that allows the development of databases for any SQL Server platform in Visual Studio. The component includes an enhanced server explorer for Visual Studio, which is designed to simplify the process of creating and editing database objects, their data, as well as executing processes within them.
Connectivity Components – Components necessary for communication between clients and servers, as well as network libraries for DB-Library, ODBC, and OLE DB.
