Microsoft Office is an indispensable tool for work, study, and everyday use on a computer. MS Office already has numerous features out of the box, but you can also download additional add-ins (extensions) for your Office suite for free from the official Office Store (also known as AppSource). These can be extremely useful and make your daily routine easier, and you may not even be aware of most of them. For your convenience, we have included a link in the add-in’s name to download the application from the official store.

Additionally, after downloading the application and further using it, you can pin it to the toolbar for quick access.

1) Adobe Stock – This add-in for PowerPoint provides access to a vast collection of high-quality photos and illustrations. You can search for images by keywords or categories directly from your presentation. To use this extension, you need to register on the Adobe Stock portal and subscribe to a plan.

2) Imagebank – A direct alternative to the aforementioned extension, with one pleasant nuance: you can use it for free for 30 days after registering an account on the photobank resource. It is perfect for quickly and beautifully decorating your document or presentation without financial investment.

3) Modern Charts – An add-in to expand the capabilities of Excel tables for data visualization. It contains over 20 ready-made templates, allowing you to create colorful infographics at a professional level. It includes histograms, timelines, maps, area charts, and many other graphical elements. A distinctive feature is the built-in chart designer and extensive configuration options.

4) Lucidchart – Another add-on for Excel that simplifies the process of drawing diagrams and charts. Users have access to templates for system block diagrams, UML and ER diagrams, business process models, organizational projects, various types of connections between objects and entities. It also has a function for converting drawings into various graphic formats, including vector, which can then be exported to Microsoft Visio.

5) Yandex.Translate – A translator add-on from Yandex for your Microsoft Office. Translate needed words, phrases, and texts by simply highlighting them in the text. Supports more than 40 languages.

6) Evernote – This add-in is designed for Outlook, integrating Outlook with the Evernote note synchronization service. Using this extension, you can save emails to Evernote, sort them by tags, categories, and edit them, synchronize with other devices, and share with other users of this service.

7) RMail – This add-on integrates Outlook with the RMail service, providing email encryption, delivery tracking, automatic conversion of emails and their attachments to PDF format, and even electronic signature signing.

8) Wikipedia – Synchronizes your Microsoft Office with the Wikipedia encyclopedia. Simply highlight a word or phrase, and your Office will display the appropriate material from Wikipedia in a separate window.

9) CompareDocs – This extension adds the ability to Word to automatically compare two versions of a document in different formats (DOC, DOCX, etc.) and PDF. This add-on will find and show all non-matching fragments, an indispensable tool for quickly comparing legally significant documents and finding uncoordinated edits.

10) LanguageTool – This add-on complements the existing Word spell-check feature. It finds spelling, punctuation errors, typos, and stylistic grammar issues to ensure all words are in the right places. The add-on supports Russian, English, Ukrainian, Spanish, French, German, Polish, and many other languages. It is an excellent assistant for those studying foreign languages and who want to be sure of the correctness and literacy of the written text.

11) Fax.Plus – An add-on for sending faxes directly from the Word application, supporting more than 180 countries and scheduled data transmission. Faxing is done via the internet service, so you don’t need to connect a fax modem or telephone line to your computer.

12) Email Recovery – The name of the add-on speaks for itself. This extension allows you to recover accidentally deleted emails. Losing important emails can be nerve-wracking, but with this add-on, you still have a chance to get everything back.

13) Scan&Paste – This is both an add-on and an application. It allows you to quickly send digital images from Android and iOS mobile device memory to Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote applications. You need to install the Scan&Paste app on your smartphone, which can be downloaded from Google Play and the App Store, respectively.

14) QR4Office – Allows you to convert links and short text messages into QR codes directly from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This can be useful when creating announcements and presentations with many links to internet resources.

15) Mobile Data Collection — Scan-IT to Office – An analog of the Scan&Paste extension but with broader functionality. It allows you to send not only digital images from mobile devices but also barcodes, text, timestamps, GPS data, and other information.

16) Tabs for Word – This add-on adds a tab bar in Word instead of thumbnails on the Windows taskbar. Work in Word “like a browser.”
