In this article, we will consider an error that may occur, for example, when opening Microsoft Office files. The error contains the message: Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again

It typically arises due to the installed AVAST antivirus.

Solution:

Access the registry. You can do this with the hotkeys Win + R => enter regedit in the window => OK

Open the path: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options
You can simply enter this into the registry editor's address bar.

Open the entry found in this window, make sure its value is set to AVAST. Double-click on it and delete this value.

After removing the AVAST value, the error when opening files should disappear.
